Dublin Exchange Program
Principal's Message
Updated: Sep 3, 2021
“The principle goal of education is to create men who are capable of doing new things, not simply of repeating what other generations have done - men who are creative, inventive and discoverers” - Jean Piaget

In my short tenure as the Principal of St. Xavier’s Collegiate School, Kolkata, I have learnt that the present generation of students is different. They are media rich, fast, engaging, dynamic, instant, electronic and digital. The way they live is changing and evolving at a rapid pace. They get distracted when their needs are not addressed adequately. Students today require different sets of skills to face the challenges that come to them. Therefore, in the rapidly evolving environment, teachers are required to build skills and competencies across three different levels: technology literacy, knowledge deepening and knowledge creation.
Students Exchange Programme like the Dublin Project can be of some help to prepare students for productive and rewarding lives and careers, by providing meaningful opportunities for them to learn about the world. Students can develop a globally conscious ethos and consistently maintain meaningful interaction with the world. I am sure this project will help our students to be globally engaged, learn globally, expand their thinking patterns and enable them to incorporate their learning into their day-to-day lives. I am also confident that I will inculcate respect in them for the world as a big family.
I wish to acknowledge my sincere appreciation to the teachers, parents and students for their encouragement and support in this regard. May God Bless you all!
